About Difluprednate
Difluprednate belongs to the steroid type of drugs. It is mainly used to treat eye problems, especially inflammations and infections. It is mostly used after a major eye surgery. The drug can be prescribed to treat painful anterior uveitis, which is a type of inflammation affecting the front part of the eyes. Never use this medication or any other ophthalmic drug while wearing your contact lenses. The dosage of the medication is to be determined by your doctor depending upon the intensity of your infecting and other related medical conditions. The drug is contraindicated in patients who has not yet gone for treatment of their cataract or glaucoma or are suffering from any other kind of infections such as herpes or chicken pox.
The known side effects of this drug include blurring of the vision, irritation or redness of the eyes including itching. You might experience severe or persistent headaches, dizziness, slowing of the healing after the eye surgery, changes in vision, seeing rainbow colours around lights, changed appearances or colour around your iris, the behind of the eyes feel painful or there may be flare up of new infections in or around the eyes. It is recommended to avoid driving after application of this medicine.

How does this medication work?
The active constituent of this medication is a drug used for treating pain and inflammation due to ocular surgery. It is an anti-inflammatory steroidal drug that induces phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins which are responsible for controlling leukotrienes and prostaglandins biosynthesis. This inhibitory effect is imposed by preventing the release of arachidonic acid from the proteins.
