About Dinost 0.5Mg Gel

Dinost 0.5Mg Gel is generally given to pregnant women who are very close to their due date. The drug helps in the induction of labour, and widens the cervix for easy delivery. It is also used to initiate an abortion at about 12 to 20 weeks of pregnancy. Some doctors, also prescribed Dinost 0.5Mg Gel to help clean out the vagina after a miscarriage.

The drug helps the womb and the cervix to contract, slowly pushing out the baby/placenta or the vaginal remains after a miscarriage.

Dinost 0.5Mg Gel is available as a suppository that is generally inserted into the vagina or a gel. The gel is administered into the vagina with the help of a syringe by a doctor or nurse. Patients are advised to keep lying down for a couple of hours after Dinost 0.5Mg Gel is administered.

Some of the common side effects that may result because of this drug are- dizziness, vomiting, fever, headache, stomach upset and diarrhea. If these side effects persist or become extremely severe, seek medical aid immediately.

The gel form of the drug needs to be refrigerated, while the inserts should be frozen. Dinost 0.5Mg Gel should be kept away from children as well as pets.

    This medication causes the cervix muscles to dilate and become relaxed. This eventually encourages the muscles of your uterus to contract during labour. Its functions are similar to that of PGE2 or Prostaglandin E2.
