You are right, both of them has side-effects if taken on regular basis, better try to find out th e exact cause of headache first.
Some primary headaches can be triggered by lifestyle factors, including:
Alcohol, particularly red wine
Certain foods, such as processed meats that contain nitrates
Changes in sleep or lack of sleep
Poor posture
Skipped meals
Stress
Insufficient sleep or rest
Overexertion
Nutritional deficiencies

You must visit a doctor and determine the correct medicines to take for your migraine. I also recommend that you meet with a counselor and may be a doctor to deal with the depression. We have to identify the cause of head ache. it is not advisable to use pain killers ,you can try external pain killer ointments.
