Drep Ear Drop ir used to treat ear infections. It works by preventing the growth of microorganisms responsible to cause infection in the ears. Along with this it also provides relief from the symptoms associated with it like pain, irritation and itchiness.
Drep Ear Drops is a blend of four drugs which are Lidocaine, Clotrimazole, Beclometasone, and Ofloxacin. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic. It performs its action by obstructing pain signals from the nerves to the brain to reduce pain sensation in the ear. Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication which inhibits fungal development.
Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that prevents bacterial cells from growth. Beclometasone is a steroidal drug which inhibits the production of prostaglandins that make the ear red, swollen and itchy. This treats the ear infection. All these drugs together treat the ear infection.
It provides Temporary relief of pain associated with serous otitis media, swimmer's ear, and otitis externa. It is contraindicated in children <1 year of age, secondary bacterial infection of the area and ophthalmic use.
