DRONIS

Dronis is used as a contraception drug to prevent pregnancy, and it is responsible for controlling the female reproductive system and secondary sexual characteristics, as its actions are similar to oestradiol and oestrogen. It should not be given to patients with uterine or liver disorders, and pregnant and lactating women. Possible side effects are oedema, hypertension, dizziness and nausea.

Dronis 20 is a contraceptive pill designed specially for feeding mothers so that milk production is not reduced. That is why estrogen content is 20 and not 30. Best contraception for you is iucd or copper t and if that is not suitable then only dronis 20 to be started.

Hello doctor, I am 26 years old girl and I found out that I have pcos when I was 24. I use to have very irregular periods and shooting pain while my periods, I consulted a doctor and went under medical checkups and my doctor told me that I have pcos. Previously he gave me Diane 35 for 6 months and then switched to Dronis 20. I still take dronis 20 but have noticed that my bleeding during periods have decreased very drastically I hardly get one or two drops of blood each day of my periods and my periods use to last till 5 days since I have started with dronis it has reduced to 3days. Is it something that I should worry about? But since I have started with my medication I no more have the shooting pain and at least my periods happen every month a week after I would have finished with 24 tablets of dronis.

Your BMI is 30.4 which should be below 25. Primary objective of your treatment is weight reduction and maintain normal BMI of 18-25. This will regularize the monthly cycles and also help you get pregnant in future. You can take Metformin to reduce weight. Also diet and jogging or brisk walk for 4-5 km daily will help. For pcod there have to be at least 12 small cysts in an ovary, size less than 5-7 mm each. If the number of cysts are lesser, then you strictly do not have pcod. Stopping dronis may allow normal hormonal changes and normal cycle to resume. Watch for 3 months. Look up the ideal weight as per your height and age and try to maintain that. If thyroid and prolactin levels are normal and if your mother, aunts or sisters have not had this problem, you should come out of it.

Dronis 30 is not given to cure the disease.
It can only regularize your cycles. You can marry but there could be problem with ovulation which can be easily treated with ovulation-induction drugs.

Actually dronis 30 is meant for contraception (avoidance of pregnancy). But it is also prescribed in ovarian cysts and irregular menstruation. And yes, often some cysts appear and disappear, we don't give much importance to these cysts.

The pills are not responsible for sugar and thyroid problems. Most likely, these are coincidental. First control your thyroid and sugar before planning pregnancy, otherwise there may be difficulty during pregnancy. But controlled sugar and controlled thyroid are relatively safe for pregnancy. Al the best.
