About Ecosprin Av 150 Capsule
Ecosprin capsule belongs to a group of drugs known as statins and is composed of Atorvastatin and Aspirin. It reduces the level of low density lipoprotein or bad cholesterol in the body. This medication helps in curing various conditions like narrowing of arteries that arises due to high cholesterol levels in the body. It can also reduce the amount of liver fat in the body. This drug is also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack or coronary heart diseases.
Use of this medication must be as per directed by the doctor. However if you have missed a dose, don’t try to compensate it by taking an extra dose with the next one. That is extremely harmful to the body. It is harmful to use this medication if you are suffering from any liver diseases. Also, this drug is not permitted to be used by anyone below the age of 10 years.

How does this medication work?
This medication is composed of Atorvastatin and Aspirin. Atorvastatin increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles. Aspirin(ASA) is a drug very commonly used to treat fever, pain and inflammation. The drug inactivates the cyclooxygenase, which is required for the synthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxane.
