About Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er

The primary use of Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er is to treat hypertension and angina pectoris. It is also prescribed as a preventive measure to treat myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, flutter, and symptomatic treatment of hypertrophic subaortic stenosis.

Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er is prescribed to patients to improve heart function and control blood flow through the vessels. The drug helps in the treatment of hypertension, that is, high blood pressure and angina, that is, chest pain.

Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er effectively blocks the action of a few body chemicals that occur naturally in the body. The medicine can be taken either before or after a meal. The dosage of the drug depends on the severity of the condition. The doctor may increase dosage as per requirement.

Over dosage of Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er should be avoided. In case of accidental overdosage emergency medical care should be acquired. Treatment includes symptomatic treatment of seizures, hypotension, hyperkalemia and hypoglycemia; bradycardia and hypotension resistant to atropine, isoproterenol or pacing, may respond to glucagon; wide QRS defects caused by the membrane-depressant poisoning may respond to hypertonic sodium bicarbonate; repeat-dose charcoal, hemoperfusion, or hemodialysis may be helpful in removal of only those beta-blockers with a small Vd, long half-life or low intrinsic clearance (acebutolol, atenolol, nadolol, sotalol).

        • Fluoxetine may inhibit the metabolism of Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er resulting in cardiac toxicity.
        • Glucagon: Embeta 50Mg Tablet Ermay blunt the hyperglycemic action of glucagon.
        • Hydralazine may enhance the bioavailability of Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er.
        • Insulin and oral hypoglycemics: Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er may mask tachycardia from hypoglycemia.
        • Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er reduces antipyrine's clearance by 18%.
        • NSAIDs (ibuprofen, indomethacin, naproxen, piroxicam) may reduce the antihypertensive effects of beta-blockers.
        • Oral contraceptives may increase the AUC and Cmax of Embeta 50Mg Tablet Er.
        • Salicylates may reduce the antihypertensive effects of beta-blockers.
        • Sulfonylureas: Beta-blockers may alter response to hypoglycemic agents.
        • Verapamil or diltiazem may have synergistic or additive pharmacological effects when taken concurrently with beta-blockers; avoid concurrent I.V. use.
