About Emcredil 50Mg Infusion

An aromatic organic compound, Emcredil 50Mg Infusion is based on acridine. It is usually used as an antiseptic, and also for abortions in the second trimester. It enhances the anti-bacterial activities of our immune system. For abortion, ‘labour’ is induced by the drug which activates the uterine mast cells that release certain mediators that contract the myometrium. This induces uterine contractions 20 to 40 hours after usage, similar to those experienced in a natural labour. It is considered much safer than using a saline solution

It is to be used with caution in old people and with women who are breastfeeding.

It must be used with caution with patients that have had previous uterine or cervix surgeries. It used by instilling it extra-amniotically using a Foley catheter.

A side effect is the delay in the healing of wounds and some hypersensitivity.
