About Entromax F Suspension
Entromax F Suspension is primarily prescribed for the treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery. This medicine is a combination of Furazolidone and Metronidazole.
Furazolidone is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (anti-bacterial), whereas Metronidazole belongs to the class of an antibacterial and antifungal. These two active constituents are prescribed for the treatment of diarrhoea or enteritis caused by bacteria.
Entromax F Suspension is an oral medication, sometimes prescribed along with other medication fights bacteria inside the intestinal tract. An allergic reaction to this medicine might cause rash, itching, fever, muscle aches, flushing and even breathing trouble. Seek immediate medical attention if any side effect persists.

How does this medication work?
This medication works by binding and creating cross-links in bacterial DNA which prevents its proper functioning. This creates mutations in the bacterial codons causing the formation of unnatural proteins resulting in bacterial cell death.
This medication also works by entering into the organism and forms the free radical. A concentration gradient is created in the organism due to alteration in the molecule and promotes the influx of the molecule. Thus, the free radical and the altered molecule will interfere with the DNA synthesis and stops the growth of the organism.

Ethanol
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended in patients with Metronidazole. Any symptoms of the fast heartbeat, warmth, headache, and breathing difficulty should be reported to the doctor.Interaction with Medicine
- Warfarin- Metronidazole may increase the concentration of warfarin and increase the risk of bleeding. Inform the doctor if you have any bleeding disorder. Any symptoms of unusual bleeding, blood in stools, headache, and dizziness should be reported to the doctor. An alternate class of medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.
- Ethinyl Estradiol- The desired effect of contraceptive pills will not be achieved if these medicines are taken together. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement of the medicine should be made under the doctor's supervision.
- Atorvastatin- These medicines may increase the risk of nerve damage if given together. Any symptoms of numbness, tingling or burning sensation in feet, hands should be informed to the doctor. An alternate medicine should be considered based on the clinical condition.
- Disulfiram- Metronidazole is not recommended in patients receiving disulfiram due to the risk of confusion and psychotic symptoms. Inform the doctor if you are receiving these medications. Any symptoms of change in behaviour, irritation, and altered coordination should be reported to the doctor.
