About Etos MR Tablet

Etos MR Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Etoricoxib and Thiocolchicoside. It belongs to cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) specific inhibitors class of medicines which reduce pain and inflammation by blocking the pain-causing enzymes (COX-2) in the body.

The Etos MR medicine can be used in the prevention and treatment of diseases such as Muscle Stiffness in spinal, Muscle Pain, Joint Pain, Muscles stiffness in nerve diseases, Joint swelling and Joint diseases.

Along with these, it can also be used in cases of inflammation in muscle disease, mild pain during operations, and muscles swelling. The administration of this tablet should not be stopped abruptly without completing the course.

The medication is harmful for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and for children below 16 years of age. Its dosage should be kept low and taking it for a period longer than prescribed can cause Diarrhoea, Allergy and Stomach discomfort.

The dosage should be kept low and Etos MR Tablet should not be used longer than prescribed as it may put you at risk of heart attacks and strokes. The recommended dosage is 60 to 120 mg of the medicine to be taken once daily. It is also not recommended for children below 16 years of age.

      Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. The missed dose should be skipped if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose.

    How does this medication work?

    This medication is an anti-inflammatory pain reliever. It selectively inhibits the isoform 2 of the enzyme cyclooxygenase. It reduces the production of prostaglandins from arachidonic acids that helps relieves inflammation and pain. It is administered for arthritis, spondylitis, and gout. It is a derivative of glucoside, colchicine that is contained within the Colchicum autumnale plant. Thiocolchicoside is a type of synthetic sulfur derivative. Thiocolchicoside has a high affinity for g-aminobutyric acid receptors. It activates GABA pathways and acts on the muscular contractures.
