Exten Zen Forte Capsule
About Exten Zen Forte Capsule
Exten Zen Forte Capsule is an over-the-counter medication used for the treatment of a number of conditions such as migraines and inflammation. This medication may also help with erectile dysfunction. Exten Zen Forte Capsule also has the potential to reduce blood pressure and is used for preventing high blood pressure during pregnancy called pre-eclampsia.
This medication is also used as Pituitary function test (growth hormone) and management of severe, uncompensated, metabolic alkalosis (pH greater than or equal to 7.55) after optimizing therapy with sodium and potassium supplements.
Exten Zen Forte Capsule is an amino acid that is used in the biosynthesis of proteins. Exten Zen Forte Capsule has recently gotten attention due to its potential benefits for the heart. Deficiencies of arginine are rare. Arginine is used in the body for healing wounds, maintaining immune and hormone function, helping the kidneys remove waste material and it also dilates and relaxes arteries.
In the body, Exten Zen Forte Capsule turns into nitric oxide which is a powerful neurotransmitter, that helps blood vessels relax and improves circulation. This improves symptoms of chest pain or angina, clogged arteries and coronary artery disease. Due to its abilities to affect blood flow and circulation, it may also be useful for treating erectile dysfunction.
It has also been used for patients who suffer from intermittent claudication (intermittent leg-cramping and weakness), who have benefitted from it as their walking distances have improved. Some people use Exten Zen Forte Capsule for preventing the common cold, improving kidney function post-kidney transplant, improving athletic performance, boosting the immune system, and preventing inflammation of the digestive tract in premature infants.
Patient should fast the evening prior to test; minimize stress/exercise before test since these may affect growth hormone production. Exten Zen Forte Capsule may be infused without further dilution; maximum rate of I.V. infusion: 1 g/kg/hour (maximum: 60 g/hour).
Arginine hydrochloride should never be used as an alternative to chloride supplementation but used in the patient who is unresponsive to sodium chloride or potassium chloride supplementation.
Arginine hydrochloride is a fourth-line treatment for uncompensated metabolic alkalosis after sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and ammonium chloride supplementation has been optimized.
Exten Zen Forte Capsule stimulates pituitary release of growth hormone and prolactin through origins in the hypothalamus; patients with impaired pituitary function have lower or no increase in plasma concentrations of growth hormone after administration of arginine. Arginine hydrochloride has been used for severe metabolic alkalosis due to its high chloride content.
Arginine hydrochloride has been used investigationally to treat metabolic alkalosis. Arginine contains 475 mEq of hydrogen ions and 475 mEq of chloride ions/L. Arginine is metabolized by the liver to produce hydrogen ions. It may be used in patients with relative hepatic insufficiency because arginine combines with ammonia in the body to produce urea.
