How does this medication work?
Gabamax Gold Capsule is multivitamin composition, so works via multiple mechanism. Benfotiamine is a lipid based synthetic analogue of Thymine or Vitamin B1 with greater bioavailability than other Thiamine salts. It is dephosphorylated by ecto-alkaline phosphatases to S-benzoyl thiamine in the intestinal mucosa, which is then hydrolyzed to thiamine by liver thioesterases.
Folic Acid helps in the synthesis of purine and pyrimidine which are necessary for the production of blood and its component. Methylcobalamin acts as a cofactor for enzyme methionine synthase, which transfers methyl groups for the regeneration of methionine from homocysteine.
In anemia, it increases blood cell production by promoting nucleic acid synthesis in the bone marrow and by promoting maturation and division of erythrocytes.
Pregabalin is a GABA analog and binds to the voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This causes a reduced release of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, substance P thus slowing down nerve signals. Altogether, they work and alleviates the symptoms.
