About Glocin Gel
This gel is a combination of an antibiotic along with Nicotinamide. It belongs to a lincosamide class of antibiotics and works by blocking bacteria from synthesizing protein. It is prescribed specifically for the acne issue. This drug should be used to treat bacterial infections only and not against viruses, such as for common cold or flu.
Also, it is used to treat numerous bacterial infections like pneumonia and strep throat. Apart from this, disease middle ear infections, bone or joint infections, and endocarditis among others.
Common side effects of this gel include rashes on the skin, fever, body aches, unusual bleeding or easy bruising. It is advised to avoid taking this gel if –

How does this medication work?
This gel belongs to the class lincosamide. It works by binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome thus inhibits the protein synthesis in the bacteria and stops the growth of the bacteria. The primary function is DNA repair, cellular energy metabolism, and regulation of the transcription process.
