About Haa 0.2% w/v Mouth Wash

Haa 0.2% w/v Mouth Wash helps in treating inflammation of gums. You are advised to consume this medication after meals, it may affect the taste of foods and beverages. For maximum effectiveness avoid rinsing mouth, brushing teeth, eating or drinking for 30 minutes after using this medication.

In many cases, this drug may cause permanent discolouration of some tooth fillings. To minimize discolouration, brush and floss daily (especially focus on the areas which begin to discolour). Never mix or dilute this drug with any other product.

Avoid contact with this medication with eyes and ears. If the solution comes in contact with your eyes, rinse well with water. Consult your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Precede use of solution by flossing and brushing teeth; completely rinse toothpaste from mouth. Swish 15 mL undiluted oral rinse around in mouth for 30 seconds, then expectorate. Caution patient not to swallow the medicine. Avoid eating for 2-3 hours after treatment. (The cap on bottle of oral rinse is a measure for 15 mL.)

When used as a treatment of gingivitis, the regimen begins with oral prophylaxis. Patient treats mouth with 15 mL Haa 0.2% w/v Mouth Wash, swishes for 30 seconds, then expectorates. This is repeated twice daily (morning and evening). Patient should have a re-evaluation followed by a dental prophylaxis every 6 months.

    The bactericidal effect of Haa 0.2% w/v Mouth Wash is a result of the binding of this cationic molecule to negatively charged bacterial cell walls and extramicrobial complexes.

    • At low concentrations, this causes an alteration of bacterial cell osmotic equilibrium and leakage of potassium and phosphorous resulting in a bacteriostatic effect.
    • At high concentrations of Haa 0.2% w/v Mouth Wash, the cytoplasmic contents of the bacterial cell precipitate and result in cell death.
