HUMALOG

Humalog is a rapid-acting form of insulin which helps to lower the sugar levels quickly. This is generally prescribed to patients suffering from Type-1 diabetes in adults. This medication can also be taken orally by patients suffering from Type-2 diabetes. This medication can be taken within 15 minutes before or after taking the food. The pen or cartridge which is used to inject the insulin should never be shared with anyone else. Some of the known side effects of this medication are low potassium levels, redness, swelling, itchiness or uneven heart rate.

In t2dm there are no antibodies produced against insulin, it is the insulin resistance that is the culprit along with improper production of insulin by beta cells of pancreas. You might a drug like metformin 500 mg twice a day in addition to insulin which would reduce insulin resistance and help insulin action. Plus your strict diet and exercising for more than 1 h a day should continue.

Hum log mix is analog and definitely better than mixtard which is human insulin. With analogue you won' t gain weight n there are very less chances of hypoglycemia moreover analogue can injected immediately before meals. What I suggest you is to make cetapin twice a day, weight for a month n the if not controlled increase the dose of insulin.

Take your insulin in routine. Homolog before meals n lantus bedtime. What is more important you should check your sugar before n after exercise. If it is persistently high you can increase the dose of lantus by 4. 6 units. That won't increase the risk of hypoglycemia but if add homolog before exercise, chances of hypo will increase.
