About Intagesic-MR Tablet

Intagesic Tablet is primarily prescribed for the treatment of muscle spasms. It is used in conditions like backache, muscle spasm, muscle injuries, swelling, muscle ache and many more.

This medication works as a pain-killer and a muscle relaxant. The tablet helps in stopping the signals or sensations of pain from reaching your brain and thus relieve your pain over time.

When your pain subsides, it helps you take rest and indulge in physical therapy that will ultimately help you improve the pain related to skeletal muscles. It is a great option for people involved in sports as they experience such skeletal muscle pain a lot.

It is important that you do not consume the Intagesic medicine if you are consuming sodium oxybate or are allergic to the ingredients of medicine. Breastfeeding, pregnant women or women trying for children must avoid the intake of the medicine.

Furthermore, if you suffer from liver or kidney related issues, you must avoid the medication in such cases too. Some of the common side effects are fainting, loss of appetite, black, bloody or clay coloured stools, nausea, itching or dark urine.

Intagesic-MR is better if you take it with some food and not on an empty stomach as it will reduce the possibility of stomach pain. You must stick to the dosage, duration and frequency mentioned by the doctor and not take the medicine as you wish.

This medicine can cause extreme drowsiness if you consume alcohol and thus must be avoided during this period. Symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, absent tendon reflexes, hypotension.

Treatment is supportive following attempts to enhance drug elimination. Hypotension should be treated with I.V. fluids and/or Trendelenburg positioning. Dialysis and hemoperfusion and osmotic diuresis have all been useful in reducing serum drug concentrations; patient should be observed for possible relapses due to incomplete gastric emptying.

Take exactly as directed, with food. Do not increase dose or discontinue without consulting prescriber. Do not use alcohol, prescriptive or OTC antidepressants, sedatives, or pain medications without consulting prescriber.
