Ketostar Soap is composed of Cetrimide and Ketoconazole which are used in the treatment of dandruff. It is a disinfectant and anti-fungal. It blocks bacteria, fungi, and viruses to rest on the scalp. This soap creates its own antifungal layer to reduce the growth of dandruff generating fungi and hinders its growth.

How does this medication work?
Ketostar Soap is a kind of antiseptic that acts through three modes, namely, protein denaturation, membrane damage, and enzyme inactivation. At low levels, the medication acts as bacteriostatic, while in higher concentrations it is a bactericide. It also works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol which is an important component of the fungi cell membrane by inhibiting cytochrome P-450 dependent enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase responsible for the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol, thus helps in inhibiting the growth of the organism.
