This syrup is a synthetic disaccharide. It is like a lactulose-like glucose molecule which contains galactose and sorbitol. This syrup is used for the treatment of constipation and hepatic encephalopathy.
The dosage for this syrup should be determined by your doctor based on your medical history, age, response to theory and current condition. However, the usual recommended dosage in adults is about 15-30 ml per day. The medication should be taken with meals. If no adverse reactions show then the dosage may be increased to 60 ml per day. Consult your doctor before making any changes to dosage.
