About Lindox-L Capsule
Lindox-L Capsule is an antibiotic medicine. It is primarily used to treat infections of lungs and reproductive organs (some sexually transmitted diseases). This drug may also be used as part of combination therapy to treat severe acne and to prevent malaria.
This medication belongs to a class of medications called tetracyclines which block a bacterial protein from being made and therefore prevents the growth of bacteria. It is also used to treat bacterial infections which include intestinal infections, skin infections, eye infections, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, and others.
Common side effects include diarrhoea, a red rash, nausea, vomiting, flue symptoms, skin allergies and an increased risk of a sunburn. In young children and pregnant women it may result in permanent problems with teeth and bone development. It is considered safe in people who are breastfeeding.
To make sure doxycycline is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have :
- Liver disease
- Kidney disease
- Asthma or sulfite allergy
- A history of increased pressure inside your skull like severe headaches, dizziness, nausea, ringing in your ears, vision problems or pain behind your eyes.
Also inform the doctor if you also take isotretinoin including Claravis, Amnesteem or Sotret or you take seizure medicine or any blood thinners. It is best taken by mouth on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, usually 1 or 2 times every day.
Drinking lots of fluids is highly recommended while taking this medicine. If stomach upset occurs, taking it with food may help even though its effect may decrease a little. It is advised to not lie down for 10 minutes after taking this medication.
Take this medication 2 to 3 hours before or after taking products like antacids, quinapril, didanosine solution, vitamins or minerals, dairy products, and calcium-enriched juice. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Your dosage will be based on your medical condition, weight, age and response to treatment. For the best effect, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced times.
