About Lopez 2 MG Injection

Lopez 2 MG Injection is primarily prescibed for the management of anxiety disorders or short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety or anxiety associated with depressive symptoms.

Lopez 2 MG Injection falls under a class of psychoactive drugs known as benzodiazepine. It is given to people with anxiety disorders. It also used for sleeping disorder, seizures, surgery. Lopez 2 MG Injection is also used to treat acute coronary syndrome arising out of cocaine use.

On using Lopez 2 MG Injection the common side effects that you will experience are drowsiness, fatigue, low blood pressure and difficulty in breathing. For those of you already suffering from severe depression injecting this drug into your body may induce the increased desire for committing suicide. Therefore, close monitoring of such patients is advised.

In order to lower the chances of probable side effects, you should discuss with your doctor if you are or have:

  • History of glaucoma.
  • Pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding a baby.
  • Alcoholic.
  • Allergic to any of the ingredients contained within Lopez 2 MG Injection.
  • History of depression.
  • Seizures or epilepsy.
  • Asthma or liver or kidney disease.
  • Younger than 18 years of age.
  • Taking any other medications.

The dosage for Lopez 2 MG Injection will be prescribed by your personal physician depending on your age, gender, medical history and the seriousness of your ailing condition. The recommended dosage in adults generally is about 2 to 3 mg orally about 2-3 times a day.

In case of IV injection, the dose is about 1-2 mg twice or thrice in a day. There should be equal intervals between doses. If you are taking it orally, have it with ample amounts of water. In case of a missed dose, take it as soon as possible, otherwise skip it. Do not double dose and in case of drug overdose, notify your doctor immediately.

Symptoms of Lopez 2 MG Injection overdose include confusion, coma, hypoactive reflexes, dyspnea, labored breathing. Treatment for benzodiazepine overdose is supportive. Rarely is mechanical ventilation required.

Flumazenil has been shown to selectively block the binding of benzodiazepines to CNS receptors, resulting in a reversal of benzodiazepine-induced CNS depression but not respiratory depression. Treatment requires support of blood pressure and respiration until drug effects subside.

Take exactly as directed (do not increase dose or frequency); may cause physical and/or psychological dependence. Maintain adequate hydration (2-3 L/day of fluids unless instructed to restrict fluid intake).

        Consumption of alcohol with this medicine is not recommended as it increases the risk of side effects like dizziness, difficulty in concentration. Do not perform activities that require mental alertness like driving or operating machinery.

        • Lorazepam may cause anterograde amnesia. Paradoxical reactions, including hyperactive or aggressive behavior have been reported with benzodiazepines, particularly in adolescent/pediatric or psychiatric patients. Does not have analgesic, antidepressant, or antipsychotic properties.
        • Use caution in patients with depression, particularly if suicidal risk may be present. Use with caution in patients with a history of drug dependence. Benzodiazepines have been associated with dependence and acute withdrawal symptoms on discontinuation or reduction in dose. Acute withdrawal, including seizures, may be precipitated after administration of flumazenil to patients receiving long-term benzodiazepine therapy.
        • As a hypnotic agent, should be used only after evaluation of potential causes of sleep disturbance. Failure of sleep disturbance to resolve after 7-10 days may indicate psychiatric or medical illness. A worsening of insomnia or the emergence of new abnormalities of thought or behavior may represent unrecognized psychiatric or medical illness and requires immediate and careful evaluation.
