About Loxapine
Loxapine is a dibenzoxazepine compound that belongs to the class of antipsychotic drugs. It is mainly administered for the treatment of schizophrenia.
This is a dopamine antagonist and a serotonin 5-HT2 blocker whose exact mechanism of action has not been determined. However, it is believed to work by changing the excitability levels of subcortical inhibitory areas to produce a calming effect.
