About Mahacef - Oz Tablet

This medication is used to treat infections caused by bacteria or protozoan. It works as an antibiotic by stopping the growth of bacteria and also killing them. Also, it is used to treat infections such as bronchitis, gonorrhea and infections of ear, throat, tonsils, etc.

This medication only treats bacterial infections and doesn’t work for viral infections like flu. The medicine helps by stopping the production of the microorganisms and thus alleviating you from the problems.

This medication can cause certain side effects too. Some common side effects are

  • Stomach pain
  • Heartburn
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Rash
  • Itching
  • Hives

You should consult a doctor if you experience any of these side effects for a long period. The severity of the condition decides the schedule and strength of the dosage. It is important that you stick to the prescribed dosage, as the reaction to the medicine varies from person to person.

This tablet should be stored in a tightly closed container. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat. It is usually taken at intervals of 12 or 24 hours. It kills them by seeping into their cells through diffusion and damaging DNA and other critical bio-molecules through the formation of reactive nitro radicals.
