About Mahagaba-M Od Tablet

Mahagaba-M Od Tablet is a combination of a coenzyme form of Vitamin B12 along with GABA analog. It circulates through the bloodstream and is used to treat Peripheral neuropathy. In addition to the Vitamin B12 structure, it has an additional methyl-containing metal-alkyl group.

It is one of the most important nutrients required in the human body. A lack of this vitamin can cause severe and permanent neurological damage. The medicine also treats Pernicious anemia with weakness, numbness, tingling of fingers, etc.

This medicine is considered to be the first-line of treatment for neurotic pain, shingles, seizures, and fibromyalgia. It is used for the treatment of diabetic nerve pain, epilepsy, spinal cord injury, restless leg syndrome, and generalized anxiety disorder.

It plays a key role in the functioning of the Brain and Nervous system and the formation of the Red Blood Cells. Also, it is responsible for the protection and regeneration of Neurons. This medicine also fights against the degenerative cell condition called Multiple sclerosis. It acts as a stress reliever for the body and minds.

    This medication acts as a cofactor for enzyme methionine synthase, which transfers methyl groups for the regeneration of methionine from homocysteine. In anemia, it increases blood cell production by promoting nucleic acid synthesis in the bone marrow and by promoting maturation and division of erythrocytes. It also binds to the voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This causes a reduced release of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, substance P thus slowing down nerve signals.

        It is not safe to drink alcohol while taking Mahagaba-M Od Tablet as it is likely to increase the drowsiness and calmness in a person. Patients may feel even sleepier if both of them are taken together. This can also cause several harmful effects on the patients.
      • Interaction with Medicine

        Mahagaba-M Od Tablet shows severe side effects on reaction with some drugs. Drugs of Cholchicine like Nuforce, Cholchicindon, Goutnil, etc, Amphetamine like Evekeo, Captopril like Aceten, Angiopril react severely with Mahagaba-M Od Tablet and cause acute problems in patients. Medicines that have shown to react moderately include Alogliptin (Nesina), Metformin (Exermet, Gluformin, Gluconorm, etc) Vitamin C intakes (Mankind Vitamin C, Becosules etc.)
      • Interaction with Food

        This medicine is not known to have any particular interactions with food and can be consumed safely with food of all types. However, if the patient is allergic to any kind of food, then that must be discussed with the doctor before taking the medicine.
