About Maxtra Tablet

This is a combination medication which has Chlorpheniramine and Phenylephrine as active ingredients. It is an antihistamine drug. This medication works by blocking the action of histamine in the body. Maxtra is used for relieving symptoms of sinus pressure, sinus congestion, runny nose, itching of the throat and nose, and watery eyes. Also, sneezing due to upper respiratory infections, hay fever and allergies.

You are advised to not use this medication if you are allergic to it. If you are taking or have taken sodium oxybate, furazolidone or a monoamine oxidase inhibitor within the last 14 days. Inform your doctor if you have breathing problems, glaucoma, heart problems, liver disease, high blood pressure, seizures, overactive thyroid, stomach problems or urination problems.

    This medication is a first-generation antihistamine, which is used to prevent allergic symptoms from conditions such as urticaria and rhinitis. It binds to the histamine H1 receptor, which prevents the action from endogenous histamine. Phenylephrine is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist belonging to the phenethylamine class, which acts as a nasal decongestant. It works by narrowing the swelling of blood vessels in the ear and nose, thereby providing great relief from discomfort.
