About Medfen-SP Tablet
This is a combination medication which has Aceclofenac, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase as active ingredients. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs). This medication is prescribed for people with painful rheumatic conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It works by blocking the effect of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes. This medication makes chemical prostaglandins at sites of injury or damage, causing pain, swelling, and inflammation.
It eases pain and reduces inflammation. This medication should not be given during pregnancy or to mothers that are breastfeeding. Is not recommended for children. You should not be taking this medication if –
- You are allergic to this medication or other anti-inflammatory pain killers
- You ever had a problem with stomach or duodenal bleeding, such as an ulcer
- You have a heart condition or impaired kidney or liver function
- You are pregnant of breastfeeding a baby

How does this medication work?
This medication is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that helps relieve pain. Prostaglandins are responsible for pain, inflammation, swelling, and fever. Aceclofenac inhibits the action of cyclooxygenase in the brain which is involved in the production of prostaglandins. The drug is a pain relief medication that selectively inhibits enzyme function in the brain which allows it to treat pain and fever. It activates certain receptors in the brain that inhibit pain signals. Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that is extracted from a silkworm. It acts as an anti-inflammatory pain reliever. It facilitates the breakdown of proteins and reduces the formation of mucus and relieves inflammation.
