About Meftal Forte Tablet

Meftal Forte Tablet helps women to get relief from mild or moderate pain and fever. It is important to note that it only treats inflammation and discomfort caused during menstruation conditions as well. This medication is a combination of two NSAIDs viz. Mefenamic acid and Paracetamol.

Meftal Forte Tablet can help in the treatment of headache, joint pain, muscle pain, inflammation or fever in some cases. Meftal Forte works by increasing the blood flow and the pain threshold.

One should not consume it if they have an allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine. It is also not good for people who just had a bypass surgery or suffering from Kidney issues, Stomach problems and Ulcers.

The side effects of the medicine include pain in stomach, nausea or diarrhoea and some of the serious side effects are appetite loss, rashes, heartburn, itchy skin, pain in the lower back or bloody urine.

You must not indulge in activities like drinking alcohol or smoking as it can lead to some serious implications and affect your daily life. Stick to the dosage prescribed by the doctor to stay away from side effects. In the case of Stomach Pain, this medication should be consumed with food.

Meftal Forte Tablet may rarely cause agranulocytosis. Use this medicine caution with clozapine or carbamazepine. It may decrease lithium clearance resulting in an increase in serum lithium levels and potential lithium toxicity. Patients serum lithium levels must be monitored.

Symptoms of overdose include CNS stimulation, agitation, seizures. Management of a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) intoxication is primarily supportive and symptomatic.

Fluid therapy is commonly effective in managing the hypotension that may occur following an acute NSAIDs overdose, except when this is due to an acute blood loss. Seizures tend to be very short-lived and often do not require drug treatment.

Although, recurrent seizures should be treated with I.V. diazepam. Since many of the NSAID undergo enterohepatic cycling, multiple doses of charcoal may be needed to reduce the potential for delayed toxicities.
