Milflodex Eye Drop
About Milflodex Eye Drop
Milflodex Eye Drop is primarily prescribed for the treatment of mild to moderate community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, and acute bacterial sinusitis.
Milflodex Eye Drop is a drug that belongs to the cluster of quinolone antibiotics that is administered to remedy bacterial infections. However, this medicine will not work for viral infections such as flu and the common cold. This antibiotic works by preventing the growth and further infestation of bacteria.
Remember that using an antibiotic repetitively for trivial issues or for problems not caused by bacteria will lead the bacteria to become resistant to that antibiotic. Thus the antibiotic will lose its efficacy over a period of time. You must drink sufficient fluids unless of course advised otherwise.
The length of the treatment plan and dosage of Milflodex Eye Drop will depend upon the severity of the condition. It is advised to take this drug about 4 to 8 hours prior to the intake of other minerals/vitamins or products containing magnesium or aluminium such as antacids.
For best results, take this medicine at regular intervals every day. Finish the course of the antibiotic even if your condition gets better; this is because stopping the intake of an antibiotic prematurely will result in the relapse of the infection and the bacteria turning antibiotic-resistant over a period of time.
This medicine may cause some of the side effects include nausea, sore throat, dizziness, lightheadedness, diarrhea, headaches and difficulty in sleeping. Although rare, a severe intestinal condition ‘Clostridium Difficile Diarrhea could develop.
Let your doctor know without any delay should you experience persistent diarrhoea or notice the presence of blood or mucous in the stool. Take note that prolonged intake of this drug, beyond the prescribed time limit, may result in the formation of white patches in the mouth (oral thrush) or a new yeast infection that could manifest itself in the form of vaginal discharges.
Potential symptoms of overdose may include CNS excitation, seizures, QT prolongation, and arrhythmias (including torsade de pointes). Patients should be monitored by continuous EKG in the event of an overdose. Management is supportive and symptomatic. Not removed by dialysis.
May be taken with or without food. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid direct exposure to direct sunlight during therapy and for several days following. Do not take antacids within 4 hours before or 8 hours after dosing.
Contact your physician immediately if signs of allergy occur. Contact your physician immediately if signs of tendon inflammation or pain occur. Do not discontinue therapy until your course has been completed. Take a missed dose as soon as possible, unless it is almost time for your next dose.
