About Minipress Xl 5Mg Tablet
This medication is used to prevent the risk of heart failures, high blood pressure, tightness of chest, breathing difficulties, chest pain. It belongs to the alpha-blocker class of medicines and decreases the secretion of epinephrine and norepinephrine. This helps to facilitate in vasodilation of blood vessels to relieve pain and stimulate proper blood circulation in the body.
The drug is contraindicated in patients who are suffering from orthostatic hypotension (blood pressure drop upon standing), cataract surgery, intraoperative floppy iris syndrome and allergy to quinazoline analogs. The tablet has been known to cause complications on interacting with certain drugs like aldesleukin, amiloride, amiodarone, aspirin, etc.
It can cause side effects like dizziness, fainting, nausea, headache, edema, blurred vision, nasal congestion, constipation, etc. These side effects gradually improve over time and do not require special medical attention.
