About Moxclav Ds 457Mg Syrup

This is a combination medication which has Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid as active ingredients. As a penicillin antibiotic, this syrup treats bacterial infections. It interferes with the synthesis of the cell wall in a bacteria and stops it from growing. This syrup is used to treat infections of the lungs and airways, skin, middle ear, sinuses, and the urinary tract. It is used with antibiotic clarithromycin to treats stomach ulcers.

Other drugs may interact with amoxicillin, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell each of your health care providers about all medicines you use now and any medicine you start or stop using.

It works as a beta-lactamase inhibitor by binding to beta-lactamase enzyme produced by bacterial cells, which in turn inhibits its enzymatic action and prevents beta-lactam antibiotics from being metabolized by the enzyme.
