About Moxigram Lx Eye Drop

This is a combination medication which has Loteprednol and Moxifloxacin as active ingredients. It is a corticosteroid. This drop provides temporary relief to eye disorders such as swelling, redness, and inflammations. It is given topically as an ophthalmic solution. This drop is also used to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis with the help of a nasal spray variant.

On using this drop you may experience side effects such as redness, swelling, eye sensitivity, dry eyes, headache, and itchiness. In certain severe cases, you may suffer from blindness and nausea. If reactions persist or worsen over time notify your physician immediately.

Use this drop as prescribed by your doctor. The usual dosage in adults is about 5 mg, one or two drops taken around four times a day.

Moxifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by inhibiting the enzymes topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV. This interferes with the bacterial cell replication and repair leading to cell death.
