About Nebistar 10 MG Tablet

Nebistar 10 MG Tablet acts as a beta blocker, thus effectively controlling high blood pressure levels in the body. The drug lowers hypertension and thus preventing heart attacks or strokes and the onset of kidney problems. The drug is known to slow down the action of a few naturally occurring body chemicals, like epinephrine, on organs like the heart and the blood vessels of the body.

The action of the drug effectively helps lower heart strain and blood pressure as well. Nebistar 10 MG Tablet is meant to be consumed orally and may be taken before or after a meal. The dosage should be taken precisely as mentioned on the prescription. Your doctor may initially prescribe a low dose, increasing it gradually as per the drug’s effect on your body.

When it comes to the consumption of Nebistar 10 MG Tablet there are a couple of precautions that’s should be adhered to. For instance-

  • Inform the doctor about any allergies you have,
  • Give your doctor detailed information about the current medicines or supplements you are taking. This is primarily because some medicines may hinder the effect of Nebistar 10 MG Tablet resulting in complications. Such medicines include: amiodarone, sotalol, calcium channel blockers, insulin, digoxin etc.

  • Inform the doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding as consumption of Nebistar 10 MG Tablet may otherwise harm the child.

Some common side effects of Nebistar 10 MG Tablet include fatigue, weakness, headache, nausea, pain in the stomach and problems with sleep. In case these symptoms become very severe contact your doctor. It is to be noted that while the drug controls hypertension it does not cure the condition. Thus, blood pressure should be regularly checked.

Do not take Nebistar 10 MG Tablet if you:

  • Have heart failure and are in the ICU or need medicines to keep up your blood circulation,
  • Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat),
  • Have severe liver damage,

    • Allergy

      Nebistar 10 MG Tablet is not recommended for people who have a known history of allergy to this medication or any other medicines belonging to the group Beta Blockers. (Eg: Atenolol, Labetalol etc).

    • Liver Disease

      Nebistar 10 MG Tablet is not recommended for people having a severe liver impairment.

    • Circulatory Disorders

      Nebistar 10 MG Tablet is not recommended for people suffering from blood circulation disorders or cardiogenic shock.

    • Heart Failure

      Nebistar 10 MG Tablet is not recommended for use in people suffering from severe heart failure or people receiving emergency attention.

    • Heart Diseases

      Nebistar 10 MG Tablet is not recommended for people who have serious heart problems like heart block and Sick Sinus Syndrome, especially if no pacemaker has been implanted to correct the defect.

    • Bronchial Asthma

      Nebistar 10 MG Tablet is not recommended for use in people having a history of bronchial asthma and bronchospasm or any other condition in which the airway is obstructed.

    • Heart Rhythm Disorders

      Nebistar 10 MG Tablet is not recommended for use in people having heart rhythm disorders like Bradycardia.

      In patients with moderate hepatic impairment, the recommended initial dose is 2.5 mg once daily; titrate up slowly if needed. Nebistar 10 MG Tablet have not been studied in patients with severe hepatic impairment and therefore it is not recommended in that population

    Nebistar 10 MG Tablet specifically blocks beta receptors sites in the heart, blood vessels, and lungs. This results in inhibition of epinephrine which relaxes blood vessels, lowering the pressure and improving blood flow to the heart.

        Amiodarone

        Report the use of either of the medication to the doctor. A dose adjustment and clinical safety monitoring may be needed while taking these medicines together. Symptoms like headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, fainting etc should be reported to the doctor on priority.

        Aminophylline

        Report the usage of either of these medicines to the doctor. Dose adjustments and safety monitoring may be required in such cases.         Ergotamine

        Asthma

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should not be used in patients suffering from bronchial asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Report the incidence of Asthma to your doctor so that Nebistar 10 MG Tablet can be substituted with another medication.

        Heart Block

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should not be used in patients having a heart block greater than first degree. However, it can be used in this case if a pacemaker is present to correct the disorder.

        Diabetes

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should be administered with caution in patients suffering from diabetes or a condition where blood sugar level is likely to get low. You should consult a doctor if any symptom indicating a lowered blood sugar level is suspected while using this medicine.

        Liver Disease

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should be administered with caution in patients having a liver disease. Suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring are advised in cases where the impairment is severe.

        Glaucoma

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should be administered with caution in a patient suffering from Glaucoma. A change in the dose of current Glaucoma medicine may be required. In some cases, your doctor may advise the use of another medicine in place of a beta blocker.

        High Cholesterol And Fat

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should be administered with caution in a patients having high levels of cholesterol and fat in their body. Suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring may be required in such cases.

        Hyperthyroidism

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should be used with caution in patients having high thyroid hormone levels. Special caution should be taken while withdrawing this medicine. The dosing and effects of the medicine should be closely monitored.

        Myasthenia Gravis

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should be used with caution in patients suffering from this condition characterized by severe muscle weakness.

        Pheochromocytoma

        Nebistar 10 MG Tablet should be used with caution in patients suffering from this condition. The treatment should be suitably combined with an alpha-blocker with appropriate dosing and clinical monitoring.
