About Neoctide 50Mcg Injection

Neoctide 50Mcg Injection is a somatostatic agent. It is used to treat severe cases of diarrhea, flushes and types of cancer. It functions by decreasing the blood levels of hormones and chemical messengers. It is sold under the trade name of Sandostatin.

On using this medication you may experience side effects such as headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, skin rash, swelling, enlarged glands, bloating and slow or irregular heartbeat. If the allergic reactions persist or worsen over time seek the help of your health care provider right away.

Before using this medication notify your doctor if: you are allergic to any of the ingredients contained within Neoctide 50Mcg Injection, you have any other allergies, you are taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, you have e a history of gallbladder, thyroid problems, heart problems, slow or irregular heartbeat, you are undergoing dialysis, you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant or are nursing a baby.

The dosage for this medication should be based on your medical history and current condition. The usual dose in adults for Carcinoid tumor is 100-600 mcg daily by IV or subcutaneously in doses of 2-4.

    How does this medication work?

    Neoctide 50Mcg Injection It decreases and regularizes growth hormone or somatomedin C concentration in patients with acromegaly. It also triggers phosphotyrosine phosphatase and the functioning of the Na(+)/H(+) exchanger through pertussis toxin insensitive G proteins.
