About Onabet 2% Cream

Onabet cream is used to treat an infection that occurs between the toes known as athlete’s foot. It is an azole antifungal that works by blocking the growth and spread of the fungal cell wall.

This medication should not be used if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or other azole antifungals. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding. Discuss with your doctor if you’re taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, herbal medicines and diet supplements.

    This medication is an antifungal agent that works by strongly inhibiting the enzyme cytochrome P450 14α-demethylase which is responsible for conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. Ergosterol is required for synthesis of the fungal cell wall and this inhibition results in eventual cell death.
