Onabet cream is used to treat an infection that occurs between the toes known as athlete’s foot. It is an azole antifungal that works by blocking the growth and spread of the fungal cell wall.

This medication is an antifungal agent that works by strongly inhibiting the enzyme cytochrome P450 14α-demethylase which is responsible for conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. Ergosterol is required for synthesis of the fungal cell wall and this inhibition results in eventual cell death.
