Optihist 0.056%/0.01% Eye Drop is an antibiotic medication which performs its action by obstructing the production of specific chemical messengers that make the eye red, swollen and itchy. Optihist 0.056%/0.01% Eye Drop is a blend of four drugs which are Chlorpheniramine, Naphazoline, Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate, and Boric Acid. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic medication which obstructs the action of specific chemical messengers responsible for red, itchy, teary eyes. Naphazoline is a decongestant drug which performs its action by narrowing the blood vessels of the eye to relieve inflammation. Zinc sulfate monohydrate and boric acid are antiseptics which treat bacterial infection in the eyes and relieve irritation.
