Oseltamivir is primarily indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated acute illness due to influenza infection in adults who have been symptomatic for no more than 2 days.
This capsule is an antiviral medication prescribed to patients with influenza A and influenza B. It is generally given to those who are in serious condition and show potential of complications after noticing the first symptom.
The medication provide relief from the flu symptoms such as sore throat, stuffy nose and fatigue etc. Some side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, insomnia, vertigo, abdominal pain. Seek immediate medical attention in case you face any of these side effects.
Overdosage/Toxicology: Single doses of 1000 mg resulted in nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor regarding the dosage. Also notify your doctor:
- About your medical history or any allergies.
- if you have any kidney disease, heart disease, chronic lung disease.
- if you have a weak immune system or intolerance to fructose.
