About Paxib 5% Cream
Paxib 5% Cream ia primarily used as single application treatment of infestation with Pediculus humanus capitis (head louse) and its nits or Sarcoptes scabiei (scabies). For external use only. Do not apply to face and avoid contact with eyes or mucous membrane.
Paxib 5% Cream is used for the treatment of scabies which is caused by a mite/lice infestation on your skin. You have to apply this ointment only in the specified areas. It should not be used in sensitive areas like the eyes, nose, and mouth. Paxib 5% Cream belongs to the class of medicine termed as pyrethrins.
You have to get a check-up if you still feel discomfort from scabies, persist after the use of this medicine to check if the mites are still physically present on your skin surface. This medicine needs to be washed off with water 8-14 hours after application.
Clothing and bedding must be washed in hot water or dry cleaned to kill nits. May need to treat all members of household and all sexual contacts concurrently. Wash all combs and brushes with permethrin and thoroughly rinse.
Apply from neck to toes. Bathe to remove drug after 8-14 hours before washing off. Repeat in 7 days if lice or nits are still present. Report if condition persists or infection occurs.
Paxib 5% Cream was shown to be safe and effective when applied to an infant <1 month of age with neonatal scabies; time of application was limited to 6 hours before rinsing with soap and water.
