About Pitavastatin
Pitavastatin is a medication used to lower high levels of blood cholestrol and triglycerides in patients. It helps in preventing cardiovascular diseases by increasing the level of good cholestrol in your body. It belongs to the class of drugs known as statin (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor) that reduces production of fatty acids in our body.
It is advised that you should refrain from using Pitavastatin if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or are breastfeeding, have liver problems, allergic to the medicine or any ingredients in it, or taking gemfibrozil or cyclosporin.
