About Quard Cream

Quard Cream is a combination of medicine, used to treat various skin infections. Quard Cream minimizes symptoms of inflammation such as redness, itching and swelling. It also has antimicrobial actions against the infection-causing microorganisms.

The medication is only meant for external use and should be used advised by your doctor. Apply a thin layer of the medicine only to the affected areas of the skin with clean and dry hands. If it gets into your eyes, nose, mouth or vagina rinse with water.

It may take several days to weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using the medicine regularly. Don’t stop the medicine in between,complete the treatment to ensure better efficacy of the medicine. If your condition does not improve or it may get worse, you should talk to your doctor.

Before using the Quard Cream, inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines for the same disease or other disease. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use this medicine with proper doctor’s consultation.

If you are allergic to medicine, you must refrain from using the medication. During the course of treatment, do not touch or scratch the infected area as this may worsen or spread the infection.

    How does this medication work?

    The active constituent of this medication is a synthetic glucocorticoid that specifically binds to cytoplasmic receptors. This inhibits leukocyte entry at the inflammation site, interferes in inflammatory response mediator functioning, and reduces oedema and scar tissues. This drug inhibits certain enzymes and also prevents DNA replication. It also works by works by binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosomes thus inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria and stops the growth of the bacteria and prevents the growth of fungi and does not let the infection to be spread in the unaffected parts. It causes the death of fungi and helps in healing the infection.
