I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing. Managing depression and anxiety, especially during pregnancy, can be incredibly difficult. It's important to remember that i'm not a doctor, but I can provide some general information. Nexito, known generically as escitalopram, is an antidepressant medication typically used to treat depression and anxiety. The safety of using escitalopram during pregnancy isn't completely clear-cut. There's some evidence suggesting that taking ssris (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, the class of drugs nexito belongs to) during pregnancy might pose certain risks to the fetus, such as premature birth, low birth weight, or withdrawal symptoms in the newborn. However, untreated depression and anxiety during pregnancy can also have risks both for you and the developing fetus. Here are some key points to consider: risks of untreated depression and anxiety: untreated mental health conditions can lead to poor nutrition, inadequate prenatal care, increased substance use, and other risky behaviors. They can also negatively affect fetal development and lead to complications such as low birth weight or premature birth. Medication during pregnancy: the decision to use medication like nexito during pregnancy is complex. It involves weighing the potential risks of the medication to the fetus against the risks of untreated depression and anxiety to both the mother and the fetus. Consultation with health professionals: it's crucial to work closely with your psychiatrist and obstetrician. They can help balance these risks and provide guidance tailored to your specific situation. Your psychiatrist's suggestion to use nexito has likely taken into consideration your personal health history and current condition. Monitoring and support: regular monitoring during pregnancy is important when taking any medication. This can help manage any potential side effects and ensure the well-being of both you and your baby. Alternative treatments: besides medication, other treatments for depression and anxiety, such as therapy, relaxation techniques, and lifestyle changes, might be recommended. Discuss these options with your healthcare providers. Family history and genetics: your concern about the impact of medication on your baby, given your first child's condition, is understandable. Discuss this aspect with your healthcare provider for a more informed decision. Informed decision making: ultimately, the decision whether to take medication during pregnancy should be made collaboratively, taking into account your personal situation, the severity of your symptoms, and the potential risks and benefits. Please ensure that any decision you make is in close consultation with your healthcare providers. They are best equipped to provide advice that takes into account your full medical history and current health status.

Everything under sun has effects+side effects. Do not worry about side effects as they are not likely to be significant. Do consult psychaitrist for depression or anxiety instead of just stopping treatment. Of course consult gynecologist for pregnancy.

Hello Friend, Good day.. I can understand your concern. Be aware that any emotional disturbance like anxiety or stress can affect the physical body as well, because body and mind are closely interconnected. So while you take medicine, it's important to identify the root cause behind your anxious or negative thoughts. It could be due to any personal issues or relationship issues or career or job tension or financial problems or health issues. It's important to find the root causes and then adopt both medicine and psychotherapy solutions to see a permanent relief. Be positive. You will be alright soon. Feel free to reach me online for further assessment of your physical and mental symptoms to help identify the root cause and suitable recommendations.

It's really difficult time for you. Try to get relaxed and divert your attention to the things you enjoy (like reading, singing, watching movie etc). But do not stop the medicines without consulting doctors. Depression can affect health of mother and baby.

Nexito tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

I am 33 years old. I am in depression since 4 years. I consulted a psychiatrist nearby and recommended tablets like venlift lonazep and nexito. Still I am continuing this tablet. Even then I am not able to get out of depression. I had ect treatments 4 times too. This is not my my first episode in depression. While I was studying in 9th I got this feel first time, but I didn't know the way to express my difficulties to my parents. They also never able to understand my illness. It last for nearly 15 to 20 days. And then I got into normal without treatment. Next this depression we episodes continued to be repeated in my life. 2nd episode while doing 11th std and it last for 1 month and left untreated, 3rd and 4th episodes while I was doing 2nd year and 4 th year irrespectively. These last for 3 months and 6 months respectively and back to normal. And again 4th episode while I am doing pg in 2011 and it last for nearly an year and back to normal again. But every time I am in depression it was severe, sleepless nights, over thinking, suicidal thoughts etc etc o suffered a lot and left untreated and the current episode started in the year 2015 with same symptoms when my son was one year old. I told to my wife, initially she also not able to understand, then we both went to psychiatrist. They prescribed medicines. Monthly once I used to visit my doctor. With same consulting doctor I am taking medicines for 4 years. Even then I am not able to come out of depression completely. Some symptoms of depressions r still there but not severe, recently in one medical check up, the report told that I have less semen count so they told this is the reason we are struggling to get the second baby. And they prescribed some tablets for one month related to that. After two my wife got conceived and we confirmed it and sad news is that when we went for periodic checkup at the stage of two months pregnancy in the scan the report impression was missed abortion. Shall I stop taking tablets of depression because I studied that these tablets causes sexual dysfunction side effects. What to do. Please give me suggestions how to come out of this long term depression and to lead a peaceful life. Pls. I am waiting for your valuable rey and keep my questions and your suggestions more confident please. Pls reply your suggestions to my mail email

If you have been on antidepressants for 4 years continuously and for the previous times you have had four different episodes it seems like you have depression with dysthymia. We call it double depression and it needs treatment on a long term basis. You also mention that you have had ect. However you do not mention how many treatments you received and what was their outcome. If you want to go off of antidepressants you might need to gradually taper them off, while being on a different kind of therapeutic measure like counseling. Look forward to hearing from you.
