How does this medication work?
This medication is derived from 2-(1H) quinolinone and is an amino acid. It is used for safeguarding mucosal, curing gastroduodenal ulcers, and controlling gastritis. It increases mucosal defense, rummages through free radicals and activates genes encoding cyclooxygenase-2. Alpha Lipoic Acid plays a significant part in oxidative decarboxylations. These decarboxylations take place of the keto acids. It is present for the growth of organisms. Alpha Lipoic Acid is present as two enantiomers-R-enantiomer and S-enantiomer. Acetylcysteine removes toxic substances.
