REGESTRONE

Regestrone is an oral contraceptive pill to prevent pregnancy. It comes in the form of a tablet. Side-effects may include weight gain, weakness, trouble in sleeping, rash, nervousness, nausea, headache, fever, dizziness spotting and abdominal pain.

Uses

Norethisterone is human-made progesterone which is a natural female sex hormone.

Side Effects

Bloating, irregular periods, feeling sick, spotting, headache, fluid retention, abnormal heavy bleeding

Expert Advice

If you are allergic to Norethisterone or suspect that you may be pregnant or you have missed any of your pills from the strip and do not bleed within 45 days since your last periods, it is advised to immediately stop the intake of Norethisterone Oral Contraceptive pill and take a pregnancy test or consult your doctor. If you miss a pill, just take one from the spare strip and then take all the other pills from the current strip. If you feel sick or have bad Diarrhea or vomiting within 3 hour of consumption of the pill, your body may lack its usual dose of hormones from the pill; just take one from the spare strip and carry on taking your pills as normal if possible, so you won’t require use of any extra contraception. If you feel sick for more than 3 hours after consumption of the pill, carry on with your pills as usual and use the extra contraception for 2 days after you get better. In case you are planning a baby, it’s suggested to use some other method of contraception after stopping your pills till you have regular periods. However, it’s safe for you and your baby if you straight away get pregnant.

How it works?

For some of the female cancers like breast caner, hight-strength tablets are used.

There is a possibility that at least in part your irregular periods are due to thyroid dysfunction. Therefore if you take the right dose of thyroxine it should get better .Regesterone or primulut-n do not cause any issues with getting pregnant in the future

I got my last periods in march 10th 2016. After which I consulted a gynaecologist for my irregular periods. She advice me to take usg on which it showed pcod. She asked to wait til april 15th for my nxt period. And if it does not happen she asked me to start on regestrone. After a week I would get my periods and from 5 th day she asked me to take ginette 35 for 21 days and wait for the periods and again from 5th day next cycle of ginette 35 whch I had to continue for 6 months. I had an intercourse with my partner on 17th april and I was taking regestrone by then. We did used condom. But the problem is regestrone course is over im suppose to get my periods but now its been delayed by 12 days. To confirm if am pregnant checked with preganews on 29th may bt the result was negative. Can you please assist me? Am I pregnant? Am not actually thinking to have a baby now. What should I do?
