About Rifaxigyl-M 200mg/400mg Tablet
Rifaxigyl tablet is composed of Rifaximin, Metronidazole. It is used for the treatment of diarrhea. This medicine hinders the growth of the bacteria Escherichia coli (Travellers diarrhea). It should be avoided if you are suffering from fever and are losing blood from your stool.
This medication is only effective for the treatment of bacterial infections and is inefficient against viral and fungal infections. If used continuously it loses its effectiveness. Along with diarrhea it is also used to treat irritable bowel syndrome. This medicine is also used to reduce the risk of hepatic encephalopathy (improper functioning of the liver).
However, this medication is only advisable for treatment if you are 12 years or above. While under medication you may experience some side effects like-
