Rozalet 10 Capsule

This is a combination medication which has Rosuvastatin and Clopidogrel as active ingredients. It is used to lower the cholesterol level and triglycerides in the body. This medication also used to prevent cardiovascular diseases. It belongs to a group of drugs known as “statins”. This medication helps reduce the need for medical procedures to open blocked vessels.

This medication reduces the blood cholesterol level thus lowering the risk of narrowing of arteries. It should be kept away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Keep the drug away from the reach of the children and pets.

This medication is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor for cholesterol. The primary site of action of rosuvastatin is the liver, the target organ for cholesterol-lowering. Rosuvastatin increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell-surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL and it inhibits the hepatic synthesis of VLDL, thereby reducing the total number of VLDL and LDL particles. This inhibits the ADP-mediated activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex, which in turn inhibits coagulation.

  This medication may increase the effect of sulfonylureas like Glimepiride. Inform the doctor if you have hypoglycemic symptoms like dizziness, headache, weakness after taking these medicines. An alternative class of medicines or dose adjustments should be made under the doctor's supervision.

  Diuretics

  This medication may lower the blood sodium levels if coadministered with diuretics like hydrochlorothiazide or furosemide. Inform the doctor if you may have symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness after taking these medicines. Consider regular monitoring of blood pressure and sodium level.

• Interaction with Disease

  Use with caution in adults and pediatrics with depression as it may worsen the symptoms. Close monitoring of these symptoms or any changes in the behavior is necessary. Discontinue the medicine if symptoms persist.
