About Silodal-D 8 Combipack

This medication falls under a category of drugs known as alpha blockers. It is used to treat enlarged prostate. The medicine functions by relaxing the prostate and bladder muscles allowing greater urine flow. It also reduces signs and symptoms of BPH.

On using this medication, you may experience side effects such as dizziness, decrease in sexual libido, skin rash, hives, discoloration of skin or eyes, chest pain, swelling of body parts or darkening of the urine and painful erection.

It is suggested not to use the drug if you are allergic to any of its ingredient. Patients suffering from kidney/liver disorders should exercise caution. The dosage for this medication should be determined by the doctor. One must not miss any dose during the course of treatment.

Take as directed, at bedtime. Do not skip dose or discontinue without consulting prescriber. Follow recommended diet and exercise program. Do not use OTC medications which may affect blood pressure (eg, cough or cold remedies, diet pills, stay-awake medications) without consulting prescriber.

This medication may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or impaired judgment (use caution when driving or engaging in tasks that require alertness until response to drug is known); postural hypotension (use caution when rising from sitting or lying position or when climbing stairs); or dry mouth or nausea (frequent mouth care or sucking lozenges may help).

Report increased nervousness or depression; sudden weight gain (weigh yourself in the same clothes at the same time of day once a week); unusual or persistent swelling of ankles, feet, or extremities; palpitations or rapid heartbeat; muscle weakness, fatigue, or pain; or other persistent side effects.

It can also increase the risk of prostate cancer. Allergic reaction to this medication can cause itching and rash. Seek immediate medical attention in case of any discomfort from this medication. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or allergic to any of the ingredients.

Consult a doctor before using Dutasteride if you have heart failure, urinary tract problems, or problems urinating; have a history of abnormal liver function, has had prostate cancer; you are allergic to any other medicine or food items

    How does this medication work?

    The medicine works as an antagonist of the alpha-1 adrenoreceptor selective for the prostrate. DHT is responsible for the swelling of the prostate.
