About Sotalar 40mg Tablet
Sotalar 40mg Tablet is used to a treat life-threatening heart rhythm problem called ventricular arrhythmia. It is also used to treat heart rhythm problems called atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter.This medicine belongs to the class of the beta-blockers.
It works by affecting the response to nerve impulses in certain parts of the body, like the heart. As a result, the heart beats slower and at a regular rhythm.This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: kidney problems, treated stable heart failure, very recent heart attack (within 2 weeks), other irregular heartbeat problems (such as sick sinus syndrome), overactive syndrome disease, serious allergic reactions needing treatment with epinephrine.
During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. It may harm an unborn baby. Many drugs besides sotalol may affect the heart rhythm (QT prolongation in the EKG), including amiodarone, disopyramide, dofetilide, pimozide, procainamide, quinidine, macrolide antibiotics among others.

Thus it should not be concomitantly used along with these to avoid severe complications.
