About Stic Injection

Stic Injection consists of an important enzyme that is obtained from venomous snakes. It is used as a drug that works as a anti-tone for bites caused by indian cobra, common krait, russell's viper and saw-scaled viper in the coagulation of blood.

Enzymes present in the drug convert the fibrinogen present in the body into fibrin by splitting off the serine group present in the fibrinogen molecules. The fibrin then combines with blood platelets to form hemostatic clots that stop blood flow and prevent hemorrhages. It can causes side effects like anaphylactic shock in case of severe allergic reaction by the body’s immune system.

While these are the possible side effects that can happen, their occurrence is extremely rare. The drug is contraindicated in case of thrombotic or embolic episodes where blood clots may travel to the brain via the bloodstream.

Before taking this drug, you must therefore consult with a qualified doctor to prevent the possibility of any complications, especially so if you are suffering from any pre existing disease or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
