About Sulbactam
Sulbactam aids in the treatment of certain types of bacterial infections. The drug is a penicillin antibiotic, which blocks the growth of the bacterial cell wall, thus killing it in the process.
The drug is not meant for consumption in case of those patients who have mononucleosis or suffer from liver issues. Persons who are allergic to any particular component in Sulbactam should avoid taking it as well.

How does this medication work?
Sulbactam works as a beta-lactamase inhibitor by binding to beta-lactamase enzyme produced by bacterial cells, which in turn inhibits its enzymatic action and prevents beta-lactam antibiotics from being metabolised by the enzyme.
