About Syndopa 110 Tablet
Syndopa tablet is a combination medication. It contains an amino acid that is produced and used as a part of the normal biology of human beings, also in some animals and plants and peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor. This medication crosses the protective blood–brain barrier as dopamine cannot. Thus, this tablet is used to increase the dopamine concentrations in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and dopamine-responsive dystonia. Besides the central nervous system, the medication can also be converted into dopamine from within the peripheral nervous system.
There are two types of responses seen with the administration of this tablet: The short-duration response which is related to the half-life of the drug. The long-duration response depends directly on the accumulation of effects over at least a two week course, during which ΔFosB accumulates in nigrostriatal neurons. When used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, this response is seen only in early therapy, as at that stage the inability of the brain to store dopamine is not yet a concern.

How does this medication work?
This tablet is an amino-acid precursor of dopamine which has antiparkinson properties. Levodopa taken orally crosses the blood-brain barrier and is decarboxylated to dopamine, which is then available to activate dopaminergic receptors. This compensates for the reduced supply of dopamine observed in Parkinson’s disease. Carbidopa acts as a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor and prevents levodopa breakdown. Hence allow levodopa to cross the Blood Brain Barrier and produce its action.
