About Tazact 4.5 Gm Injection

This is a combination injection which has Piperacillin and Tazobactum as active ingredients. As being an anti-bacterial agent. It is used for treating several serious bacterial infections. Also, It may be used to prevent infections during surgery. It works by blocking the growth of the bacterial cell wall, which eventually kills the bacteria.

This injection is not recommended for you if you are allergic to any penicillin or cephalosporin drug. Avoid using it if you are taking a tetracycline antibiotic.

Diarrhea, dizziness, tiredness, headache, pain, swelling, loose stools or redness at the injection site, nausea and vomiting are some possible side effects of this medicine which you may experience.

    How does this medication work?

    This injection is an antibacterial drug that is injected intravenously or intramuscularly to prevent bacterial infection. It kills the bacteria by preventing them from forming their cell walls by binding with certain penicillin-binding proteins present in the bacterial cells. Also, it works as a beta-lactamase inhibitor by binding to the beta-lactamase enzyme produced by bacterial cells, which in turn inhibits its enzymatic action and prevents beta-lactam antibiotics from being metabolized by the enzyme.

        Do not use this injection in combination with Live cholera vaccine, Oxytetracycline, Probenecid, Chloramphenicol, Methotrexate, Doxycycline, Tetracycline, Warfarin and Entecavir.
