About Tenoxicam

Tenoxicam belongs to a class of drugs known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is used to treat stiffness, swelling, inflammation and pain caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendonitis, bursitis and periarthritis of the hips or shoulders. Tenoxicam works by slowing down the production of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation and pain.

Tenoxicam is administered in the form of oral tablets, which should be taken once daily, and along with food, in order to avoid a stomach upset. It is important that this medicine be used exactly the way your doctor prescribes it.

Before using Tenoxicam tell your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, a history of stomach bleeding or stomach ulcers, a history of kidney problems, a history of liver problems, dysfunctional potassium and magnesium levels, or if you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding. Also tell your doctor if you are using any prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs, or other herbal and dietary pills and supplements.
